A large number of people work together to bring you the gnome-terminal:

Michael Zucchi coded the Zvt widget engine; Miguel de Icaza and Jay Painter improved it and did further debugging and maintenance. George Lebl added transparency and backing pixmap support to the widget. Michael Zucchi later significantly improved the transparency and pixmap support, adding smoother/faster display and an optional scrolling mode.

Miguel did the main gnome terminal program, and Erik Troan provided the terminal class support along with various other features. Jeff Garzik, Jay, Christopher Blizzard, Michael, Jens Lautenbacher, Tom Tromey, Tristan Tarrant, Jonathan Blandford and Michael Zucchi provided extra bug fixes and minor enhancements. Nat Friedman review the user interface to conform to the GNOME guidelines. Felix Bellaby, Tom Tromey and Manish Vachharajani implemented and improved the session management code.
