Queue Type

The Queue Type tab shows queue type that you selected when adding the printer and its settings. You can change the queue type of the printer or just change the settings. After making modifications, click OK to return to the main window. Click Apply to save the change and restart the printer daemon.

Depending on which queue type you choose, you will see different different options.

For Local Printer you will see a local printer device such as /dev/lp0 for a parallel port printer. If your printer device is not listed, click Custom Device, type the name of your printer device, and click OK to add the printer device to the list. If you have changed printers, you can click Autodetect Driver to have printconf select a printer driver for you.

For UNIX Printer (lpd Queue) you will see the following options:

Click the Translate \n => \r\n button to translate the end of line characters to a form that is readable by a Microsoft Windows system.
